Per the California Public Records Act (CPRA), anyone may have access to non-exempt public records of governmental bodies in California. Submitting a public records request requires a letter stating that you are seeking public records and which records you seek. For more information view ‘The People’s Business – A Guide to the California Public Records Act’ (April 2017).
To submit a request to the California Stormwater Authority, please fill in all required fields in the form below and then click the ‘SUBMIT’ button.
- The California Public Records Act requires a response within ten days of receipt of the request. The 10-day response period starts with the first calendar day after the date of receipt. If the request is received after business hours or on a weekend or holiday, the next business day may be considered the day of receipt. If the tenth day falls on a weekend or holiday, the next business day is considered the deadline for responding to the request.
- If access to the records you are requesting will take longer, the California Stormwater Authority will contact you about when you might expect copies or the ability to inspect the requested records.
- If any or all of your request is denied, the California Stormwater Authority will cite each specific exemption they feel justifies the refusal to release the information and will notify you of the appeal procedures available to you under the law.
